Nepal qualifies for the World Cup.

A great news for all the nepalese cricket fans.the u19 team has comfortably qualified for the upcoming ICC
U19 Cricket World Cup to be staged in Australia in 2012.Nepal won 6 games out of the 8 they have played so far placing them comfortably at the top of the table with 12 points behind only Scotland who has 14 points from same number of matches.
Nepal begun their campaign with a crushing victory over top Afganishtan side in the tournament opener.Next they lost to Scotland in a dissapointing fashion but bounced back strongly to uproot Kenya.Vanu Atu was never up to the challenge posed by the strong Nepal side and were down and out against Nepal.Although Nepal next lost to Canada by small margin, they came back strongly to beat namibia in the next match.Ireland was the next opposition for Nepal and they were led by George Dockrell who spearheaded the Ireland bowling attack in the recently concluded ICC cricket world cup 2011.But Nepal played magnificiently and outplayed the host,in their way to book a ticket to the world cup.The last game against Papua new guinea was a high scoring encounter but guinean were always falling behind nepals mountain score.
Nepal play their last game against USA,the team seated at the bottom of point table. But more importantly they have a much bigger task awaiting them in Australia come next year. Will Prithu Baskota's boys replicate the success of 2006 when Nepal rocked the cricket world by becoming world cup plate champion?well theres a long wait for you.
